Stop watching – Start seeing”, the first ever European conference on stereotypes of ethnic minorities and migrants in popular culture, is hosted by VIDC – Vienna Institute for International Dialogue and Cooperation in cooperation with the Karl-Renner-Institute in Vienna.
It is to promote the first results form the studies on popular culture across Europe in relation with the stereotyping trends and models imposed on ethnic groups and migrants.
The conference will be accompanied by workshop sessions, highly-profiled experts, activists, journalists, cultural producers and decision-makers opening the debate on stereotypes as reflected, reproduced or encouraged by popular culture domains.
